Shalom!

I want to thank all of you who have contributed to our Merkaz Hashachar fund from the bottom of my heart.

I’ve lived in Israel on kibbutz Ketura for 45 years. I’ve been very proud to sit on the board of Merkaz Hashachar but never as much as I do now.

We, on Ketura, are blessed to be in a safe area of Israel, but being in a safe area while so many are so desperately in need of help can make one feel helpless to help.

I’m proud that Ketura is hosting 25 families from the Gaza envelope. We’re not only housing them in our guest house and every home we can free up on the kibbutz, offering them all their meals in our dining room, creating fun activities for their children to fill their days, finding them clothes (they had to leave their homes so quickly, many came with nothing) and whatever else we can possibly do for them.

We’re also busy sending contributions, food, clothing, etc. to the people who were evacuated to Eilat. Your generosity has helped us to do this and much more. Many new requests pop up every day

Just today I saw a request for skateboards and helmets from a teacher in Eilat who is offering his free services to help the children in Eilat to do something fun. Of course we check out every request but because of YOU we’re able to help with a number of them.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
